We invite Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander young women and friends, ages 12 - 18, to join us to make a change! Sister-to-Sister includes motivational speakers, educational workshops, interactive activities, community resources, food, cultural performances and is FREE for youth participants.

30th Anniversary Sister-to-Sister

Embracing Our Legacy and Journey

Legacy: In 1995, Asian American Recovery Services hosted a conference for middle and high school girls in San Jose, Santa Clara County. Thirty years later, the annual Sister-to-Sister Youth Leadership Conference continues to empower young women and celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) culture. We welcome Sisters past and present to join us for our 30th Anniversary in May 2025 and celebrate the resilient and hopeful Legacy of Sister-to-Sister. 

Journey: Since 2023, we have grown Sister-to-Sister to both Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, recognizing that girls throughout the Bay Area can benefit from this inspirational experience. As AANHPI young women, we are on unique paths shaped by our intersections of culture, identity and experiences. Join us to celebrate the exciting Journey of Sister-to-Sister with new possibilities for self-discovery, growth and leadership ahead.

Celebrating 40 Years of Providing Culturally Competent Services

In 1985, Asian American Recovery Services (AARS) became the first substance useresidential treatment program targeting Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) adults in the nation. Ten years later, AARS opened its doors in Santa Clara County to provide the very first comprehensive outpatient substance use treatment program targeting AANHPI adolescents in the Nation. Since then, AARS has expanded to various San Francisco Bay Area counties to provide behavioral health services to adults, transitional aged youth, children and their families. AARS maintains its commitment to deliver the most effective and culturally responsive prevention, intervention and treatment services to AANHPI communities. AARS joined the HealthRIGHT 360 family of programs in 2014.
